Louët Megado Dobby Loom – 16 or 32 Shafts, 5 Weaving Widths
The Louët Megado is the flagship dobby loom from Louët – a beautifully engineered, high-performance floor loom available with 16 or 32 shafts. Designed for weavers who demand precision, power, and comfort, the Megado is ideal for production weaving, complex structures, and those seeking the ultimate weaving experience.
This loom uses a dobby system (sold separately) to program shaft combinations based on the pattern, replacing the traditional treadle-tie-up method. The word “dobby” comes from “draw boy” – the weaver’s helper who used to pull cords to lift shafts. The Megado’s dobby mechanism eliminates the need for multiple treadles, providing greater flexibility and ease.
