Corriedale wool is uniform and smooth, so it's easy to spin or felt. You can spin a fine to medium wire with this fiber.

After washing, Corriedale wool swells and retains good elasticity. It is ideal for baby clothes, woven clothes, hosiery and is very popular for needle felting projects.
Ashford Corriedale Sliver is a 100% New Zealand product designed from sheep wool fed in pastures by long-time Ashford herders. These breeders are very proud of the quality of the wool produced by their sheep which they take the greatest care of.

After shearing sheep, on the farm, the wool is carefully controlled. Only clean, clean wool is retained if the length of the fiber, volume and colour are adequate. It was then sent to the Milton Wool Mill plant in Ashford, New Zealand, to be tinted, carded and combed. The wool is washed using an environmentally friendly biodegradable detergent. It is then dried and tinted with dyes compliant with strict European regulations and garments made from this fibre can be certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standard. This standard is the best known for certification of eco-friendly clothing. (Detailed information is available on The fiber is then conditioned.
