This system adds a warp coil to the bottom of the loom, complementing the one used at the top. It helps maintain consistent warp spacing during warping and at the beginning of your weaving, making it particularly useful for wide bead pieces, wide tapestries and fine-set tapestry weaving.

Why add a bottom spring?
On a Mirrix loom, the upper warp coil helps determine and maintain the spacing of the warp threads. The Bottom Spring Kit applies the same principle to the lower part of the loom.
Your warp threads are therefore held at the desired spacing from the bottom of the weaving area, making them easier to organize while warping and when you begin weaving.
This additional control is particularly helpful when working with a large number of closely spaced warp threads or whenever precise and consistent warp spacing is important.

No. The Bottom Spring Kit is an accessory for added convenience and precision; it is not required for your Mirrix loom to function.

Do you need to use it for every project?
No. Once the bottom spring tray has been installed, you can simply leave the warp coil out when you do not need it and warp your loom normally.

Installation and use
The bottom spring tray attaches to the lower part of the loom using permanent double-sided adhesive.
Choose the warp coil that corresponds to your desired sett and place it in the tray. The warp threads can then be positioned in the dents of the coil to maintain consistent spacing while warping and during the beginning of your weaving.
When advancing your weaving around the loom, Mirrix recommends first releasing the tension and removing the bottom warp coil. Once the coil has been removed, the weaving can be advanced normally.
