Compact, lightweight and remarkably versatile, the Mirrix Little Guy 12" Loom is designed for weavers who want to create small tapestries, beadwork or jewelry on a loom capable of maintaining excellent warp tension.
With a maximum weaving width of 9" (23 cm), it is compact enough to use on your lap, stand on a table with its two fold-out legs or take with you wherever you weave. Despite its small size, it offers the sturdy construction and adjustable tension system Mirrix looms are known for.
Most importantly, you can choose the configuration that best suits the way you weave: without a shedding device, with a shedding device, or with a shedding device and 100 Texsolv heddles.

Why choose the Little Guy?
The Little Guy is an excellent choice if you are looking for a true Mirrix loom in a compact, highly portable format.
It is particularly well suited to small tapestries, bead weaving and jewelry. Its size makes it comfortable to use on your lap or on a table, and easy to store between projects or take with you.
Unlike a simple small weaving frame, the Little Guy allows you to precisely adjust your warp tension. And if your weaving practice evolves, you can choose a configuration with a shedding device to make tapestry weaving more efficient.

Three ways to configure your Little Guy
Without a shedding device
This is the simplest and lightest configuration. It is particularly well suited to bead weaving and to tapestry weaving when you prefer to create the shed manually.
This version includes a 14-dent warp coil, which is particularly suitable for size 11/0 seed beads. For size 11/0 Delica beads, Mirrix recommends an 18-dent warp coil, sold separately.
With a shedding device
Used with heddles, the Mirrix shedding device separates alternating warp threads to create a shed. This makes it easier to pass the weft through the warp and can make tapestry weaving faster and more fluid.
This configuration also includes four warp coils in different setts: 8, 12, 14 and 18 dents per inch.
With a shedding device + 100 Texsolv heddles
This configuration includes everything supplied with the shedding-device version, plus a roll of 100 reusable Texsolv heddles.
If you plan to use the shedding device and do not already own compatible heddles, this is the option we recommend.
Depending on the width of your project, sett and weaving technique, more than 100 heddles may be required.
Do you need a shedding device?
No. The Little Guy can be used perfectly well without one.
The shedding device becomes especially useful if you plan to weave tapestry regularly. Heddles attached to the device allow you to alternately raise two groups of warp threads, quickly creating the space needed to pass the weft through the warp.
Choosing a Little Guy with a shedding device does not mean you have to use it for every project. When setting up your loom, you can choose whether or not to incorporate it depending on your project and weaving technique.
Little Guy or Little Guy Tall Edition?
Both models offer the same maximum weaving width of 9". The main difference is the available weaving length.
- 12" Little Guy: up to 26" of weaving length with continuous warping without the shedding device, or 22" when using it. It is the smaller and more portable of the two.
- 12" Little Guy Tall Edition: up to 36" without using the shedding device, or 32" when using it. It is better suited to long, narrow projects.
Choose the Little Guy if compact size and portability are your priorities. Choose the Tall Edition if you like the same weaving width but want considerably more length for your projects.
Excellent tension in a compact loom
One of the key advantages of Mirrix looms is their ability to maintain strong, adjustable warp tension.
The anodized aluminum top and bottom beams and the steel and copper sidebars give the Little Guy a sturdy structure despite its low weight. The wooden clips are made of maple.
Setup and weaving position
The Little Guy can be used directly on your lap, a feature that sets it apart from larger Mirrix models.
Its two fold-out legs also allow it to stand upright on a table when you prefer to work facing the loom.
For a dedicated setup or a different working position, it is also compatible with the Mirrix Harvey Stand.
