Why choose the Deb 19"?
The Deb occupies a particularly useful place in the Mirrix line. Larger than the Big Sister, it allows you to weave pieces up to 16" wide while remaining much easier to transport than a large studio loom.
Mirrix designed the Deb to be as large as possible while still fitting into a suitcase. With the loom adjusted to a maximum height of approximately 19.5", Mirrix indicates that it can fit into a 20" × 28" suitcase. This makes it an excellent choice for weavers who attend or teach workshops, travel with their equipment or simply want a loom that can be stored easily.
Its shedding device also speeds up the weaving process by alternately separating the two layers of warp threads. Depending on your projects, you can choose between a standard 3/4" shed and an extended 1.5" shed.

Which version should you choose?
The Deb is available with two types of shedding device. Each can be purchased on its own or with 200 Texsolv heddles specifically suited to the selected shedding device.

Our recommendations
Standard or extended shed?
For most tapestry projects, we recommend the standard 3/4" shedding device. Choose the extended 1.5" shed if you plan to weave rugs or want more room in the shed for bobbins, shuttles or your fingers.
Should you add the 200 Texsolv heddles?
If you do not already own suitable heddles and do not want to make your own, we recommend choosing the version with 200 heddles. Please note that the heddles used with the extended shedding device are longer than the standard heddles. The number of heddles required also depends on the width and sett of your project, so 200 heddles may not be enough for every warp.

Care and use
Always place the loom on a stable surface and make sure all components are properly tightened before weaving. Adjust the tension gradually to maintain even warp tension across the full width.
Handle the warp coils carefully, as their ends may be sharp. Mirrix also recommends taking care when handling the loom's various metal components. If you disassemble the loom for travel or storage, carefully realign all parts when reassembling it.

Should I choose the standard or extended shedding device?
The standard 3/4" shedding device is suitable for most projects. The extended 1.5" shed is particularly useful for rug weaving or when you want more room to pass bobbins, shuttles or your fingers through the shed.
Can I use the Deb for both tapestry and bead weaving?
Yes. The Deb is designed for both techniques, and the four included warp coils allow you to adapt the sett to different projects.
Are heddles included?
They are included only with the “+ 200 Texsolv Heddles” versions. The other versions require heddles purchased separately or made by the weaver. The heddles for the extended shedding device are longer than the standard heddles.
Do I have to use the shedding device for every project?
No. You can weave without using it. Mirrix specifies a weaving length of up to 32" with the shedding device and up to 36" without it when using continuous warping.
Is the Deb really portable?
