Louët Octado Dobby Loom – 8 Shafts, 3 Widths
The Louët Octado is a high-end floor loom with 8 shafts and a single treadle, designed to offer modern comfort and eliminate the limitations of traditional tie-ups. As a more compact version of the renowned Megado, the Octado retains the same mechanical advantages and ergonomic design.
With its dobby system (sold separately), either mechanical or electronic, you no longer need to tie up treadles according to each pattern. Shaft combinations are programmed in advance, making weaving more intuitive and eliminating the need to crawl under the loom.
Key technical features include:
- Large shed, comparable to a countermarch loom
- Effortless treadling, thanks to the loom’s unique frame and wide shed
- Floating breast beam (as found on the Spring and Delta models) for consistent warp tension at all times
- Built-in beater rack
- Adjustable treadle for improved comfort
The electronic Octado is compatible with the most popular weaving software, including Fiberworks PCW, Patternland, Pixieloom, Weavemaker, Proweave, and WeaveIt, on both Mac and PC (software not included).
Crafted from lacquered beech wood, the Octado is shipped partially assembled, with the most complex part (the castle) pre-mounted.
